New York University in Florence at La Pietra is situated on a hillside just north of the city center. Sir Harold Acton, a distinguished patron of the arts, bequeathed the estate to the University. Villa La Pietra, a 15th-Century, 60-room country home, is surrounded by several acres of historically significant gardens, rolling hills, and olive groves.
Whenever possible NYU in Florence courses use Italy as a resource and most Fridays and some weekends through out the semester are used for academic field trips. Please consult your academic syllabi before planning personal travel.
Approximately 375 undergraduates per semester study the history of Europe and its extraordinary cultural legacy of art, literature, philosophy, and architecture, along with the political, cultural, economic, and social issues that are shaping the future of Europe. All students take intensive Italian at either the beginner, intermediate, or advanced level.

The people were very nice and a lot of fun. The campus puts this program ahead of all others in the area. It is like living in a museum the views and gardens were amazing. The two art classes I took were also both very interesting. They also don't care if you drink inside the villa which makes things fun.
The program is way too expensive for what it offers. Although it is the only program with a campus, which is incredible, its not worth the money. Many other programs in Florence were a quarter of the price and seemed the same if not better. The NYU Campus in Florence was the only real standout point of the program
Most beautiful campus EVER. I liked it a lot. Helpful administration, lots of programs and field trips.
Fun time, worth it.
